Empowered Brands

Taking a stand and using our voice is essential. Providing monetary donations is essential. Funding brands that are small, local or proactive for change is essential. Here are some initiatives to take part of or brands to support for this weekends wishlist!

Quaranteeees: This is a small brand that began only during the duration of COVID-19. Since it’s launch the brand has donated 10% of sales to Operation Food Fight. This is an organization that supports front-line healthcare workers in the greater NYC/NJ area. For the month of June, 10% of proceeds will go towards the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, the Minnesota Freedom Fund and Unicorn Riot. Support this small business that has a core value of giving as we continue to come together.

Little Words Project: The Little Words Project is based simply on the concept of being kind. It’s a female run company that believes in empowering women, collaboration, and that kindness builds confidence and fosters self-love. The Little Words Project encourages us to be kind to ourselves and those around us. Currently you can purchase an EQUALITY bracelet where 100% of profits will go to Black Girls Code. Black Girls Code is a non-profit organization with a mission to increase the number of women of color in the digital space by empowering young girls to become innovators in STEM fields, leaders in the community and builders of their own futures.


Looking for a new book? Frugal Bookstore is a community bookstore maintaining a motto “Changing Minds One Book at a Time”. This is the only black-owned bookstore in Boston and has roots here in our community. Support this small business as we continue to move forward, take a look at this week’s Tuesday Takeaway for some insight into important books that you can use to continue to educate yourself!
